How do you scale trust?

Work gets done faster when you work with people you trust. How does one go from having 5 friends that you trust to 50, to 500, or to 5000? Is their a way to 'scale' trust? This question is at the center of our Continuum program. We are in the business of creating trusting relationships between organizations and individuals. Everything we do is about trust so this becomes ever more important.
